Three musketeers

Three tiger cubs and their mother — one resting beneath an ancient tree, two tumbling nearby — caught in the most ordinary and most extraordinary moment of wild life: simply being together. Part photographic truth, part pure imagination. Sofia Shireen does not merely transcribe nature. The ink linework is patient and deeply pleasurable — each tiger stripe drawn individually, the tree bark built up in layered hatching, the grass suggested in sweeping confident strokes. Markers add warmth — the burnt orange of the tigers glowing against the cool blue-grey of the clouded sky. Pencil softens where softness is needed.

It is a technique that rewards looking closely. The longer you look, the more you find.
