Rendezvous

In the summer of 2024, on a speedboat cutting across the waters of Pykara Dam in the Mudumalai Forest Reserve, a young boy caught something at the corner of his eye — a flash of amber and black at the forest's edge. Gone almost before it registered. Almost.

That fleeting, heart-stopping glimpse from a moving boat is what Sofia has stopped in time. Rendezvous is not about a long encounter. It is about that fraction of a second — the kind that rewires you.

The meticulous ink and pencil work — every leaf, every trunk, every ripple on the water — speaks to what the mind does with a glimpse it cannot quite believe. It fills in every detail afterwards. It reconstructs. It obsesses.

The drawing is not what the boy saw. It is what he remembered — which is always more complete, more vivid, more permanent than the moment itself.
